BPMI UMM Strengthens the Implementation of Integrated Quality Management Principles

Malang, November 4th 2024 – Malang, 4 November 2024 – The Internal Quality Assurance Agency of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (BPMI UMM) continues to strengthen the implementation of integrated quality management principles in the higher education system. In order to increase commitment on quality, BPMI UMM held a discussion with the Internal Quality Assurance Group (GPMI) from all of faculties and directorates in One Day Service room of Vice rector I UMM.

 

This discussion was led directly by the Head of BPMI UMM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jabal Tarik Ibrahim, M.Si, who said that BPMI and GPMI were "quality fighters" who played an important role in keeping UMM on the right track. "Both of them are fighting hard to ensure that UMM continues to have the trust of the community and stakeholders, especially parents, students and graduate users," said Prof. Mountain. He emphasized that accreditation every period makes BPMI and GPMI the front guard in quality assurance, which is serious and dedicated work.

 

In this event, Prof. Jabal highlighted the importance of UMM's readiness in facing the implementation of Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 53 of 2023, concerning Quality Assurance of Higher Education. According to him, maintaining the quality of higher education is a non-negotiable obligation amidst intense competition between universities.

 

Secretary of BPMI UMM, Dr. Ir. Samin, MT., IPM, added that various universities, both state and private, have accelerated the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI). "We must not be careless, but we have to be proud still, because SPMI UMM is the best in LLDIKTI VII East Java," Dr. Samin said, he emphasized that this public recognition was a form of appreciation for UMM's performance in maintaining education quality standards.

 

Apart from the presentation, the discussion also focused on equalizing perceptions between BPMI and GPMI in overseeing quality assurance agenda at UMM. Through consistency and strong commitment, it is hoped that each GPMI can continue to maintain and improve the quality of higher education at University of Muhammadiyah Malang for a better future.
