The Internal Quality Assurance Agency of the Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (Badan Pengendali Mutu Internal Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang /BPMI UMM) has received the trust of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia through the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (BELMAWA) to develop an Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) in six universities in Central Sulawesi and South Sulawesi . This activity is called the 2023 Internal Quality Assurance System Developed Study Program Assistance Program.
This program, which lasted for three months, was supported directly by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The six universities that were fortunate to receive guidance were Sulawesi Technology University Makassar, STIE Mujahidin Tolitoli, STPL Palu, Stikes Indonesia Jaya Palu, Stikes Bakti Pertiwi Palopo, and Madako University Tolitoli. The UMM BMPI team led by Prof. Dr. Ainur Rofieq, M.Kes conducted field visits for mapping, online training and direct assistance.
Prof. Dr. Ainur Rofieq, MKes in his presentation during monitoring and evaluation emphasized his commitment to share good practices at UMM with the target universities. The UMM BPMI team made full efforts and professionalism to provide understanding to all participants.
"We were also happy and surprised because initially in the work contract it was stated that the number of study programs in each PT was only a few. However, in its development the number increased many times. This indicates that the assisted PTs are very enthusiastic and truly believe in BPMI UMM. "This has become an energy so that we also provide many new things regarding the internal quality assurance system," explained the professor who is also a lecturer at FKIP UMM.
Meanwhile, the monitoring and evaluation team from BELMAWA Kemendikbudristek really appreciated the performance of BPMI UMM. This is based on the quality of reported activities and appreciation or recognition from the tertiary institution.
"We have heard that the university representatives are sincerely grateful to the BPMI UMM team. They even hope that coaching will continue. "We also heard sincere appreciation from the campuses about how the BPMI UMM team had to be willing to come all the way to various regions to provide assistance," said Prof. Didit representing BELMAWA.
Prof. Didit also hopes that SPMI managers in various tertiary institutions will implement what BPMI UMM has provided. Of course, each university needs to adapt to the conditions in their respective places. With this, he hopes that quality assurance in higher education will get better, which will have an impact on the implementation of higher education in Indonesia.
