2023, Milestones of Successful Implementation of 2022 Internal Quality Audit at University of Muhammadiyah Malang
2nd week of April 2023, UMM has held Internal Quality Audit (AMI) activities for 2022 period. This activity targets all Study Program Management Units (UPPS) dan Study Program within UMM. As a part of an important step in SPMI management cycle (PPEPP), the implementation of an Internal Quality Audit (AMI) represents the institution’s commitment to realizing the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) periodically and continuously.
AMI is one of evaluation activities on the results of implementing quality standards or fulfilling performance indicators by UPPS and Study Programs based on UMM Quality Standards and Operational Plan Documents for 2022 fiscal year. AMI process is carried put trough two activities, namely adequacy audit (desk audit) and field audit (field audit). AMI's activities involve various parties, namely the Auditor team, UPPS and Study Program leaders as Auditees, as well as Internal Quality Assurance Group (GPMI) personnel. All of AMI processes are carried out by Auditees and Auditors through SIM SPMI 2.0. One of results of AMI was the formulation of recommendations and follow-up plans (RTL) which became material for UMM leaders to carry out continuous improvements to quality in the future.
The implementation of AMI 2023 has been held for two weeks, from 1st April 2023 to 15th April 2023. During this period, the Internal Auditor Team verified or confirmed the conformity of achievements with quality achievement targets set by UMM, especially related to Tri Dharma performance achievements in Study Program, so do overall target achievement in the quality sector for UPPS performance.
In implementation of AMI, all of UPPS and Study Program structural officials seemed enthusiastic and gave a positive response, when the Auditors conducted field audits in each unit. "The implementation of UMM AMI in 2023 is intended to ensure the fulfillment of every quality standard set by UMM, as well as a benchmark for ‘achievement’ in providing the best service for students and UMM stakeholders including the community. I am sure that through achievements of AMI implementation, the quality of education services on campus can be further optimized and their effectiveness and efficiency guaranteed, because every activity held by the campus is appropriate and standards are confirmed. Apart from that, of course the findings of issues that are netted will be a meaningful provision when organizing RTM and improving quality standards that we will carry out," said UMM Rector, Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., while giving direction and strengthening when reviewing the implementation of AMI this year.
Regarding the results of AMI’s implementation, Prof. Dr. Muslimin Machmud, M.Sc., Dean of FISIP UMM stated "Alhamdulillah... the implementation of AMI is very meaningful for UPPS and our Study Program, because of AMI, we can find various problems, weaknesses as well as strengths of our institution, and can formulate solutions for each finding problem of quality achievement activities in our institution according to quality standards and indicators. All UPPS and Study Programs should always support every BPMI activity which essentially provides services and assistance for the existence of institution, thank you to the leaders of UMM and BPMI. Hopefully the culture of quality will always become a feature and quality of UMM will continue to prosper" said Muslimin's statement, at the closing implementation of AMI in the faculty.
